Its getting smokey in here!

Hello Makeup Mavens!

Hope Everyone is Feeling Fabulous from the tips you have received so far!

To answer some questions from my last Blog.....

Kimberly- For under the eye liner use MARK No Wear to Run it will last the longest and not give you raccoon eyes!

Kimberly A- Try adding it to your lash line and not inside your eye.

WIN WIN WIN!!!! Congratulations GINA!!! you won Mark no wear to fun liner in black!  Enjoy and let us know how you like it!

Now that you are educated in brushes and liner we are going to pull it all together with a smokey eye! I will show you how easy it is to get a smokey eye in a few quick steps!

1. Grab your shadow brush!  Start off with a nice light color!  I like to use a little shimmer! something like MARK eyeshadow in fairydust  Apply to your entire eye from your brow to your lash line if you want to add a little shimmer to your tear duct.

2.  Choose a nice deep color I love plums, I like MARK eyeshadow in Plum Velvet (Don't be afraid of the dark color you can choose how light or dark you want it by blending and how much you apply). Grab your contour Brush and Make a C shape on the outer edge of your eye from your crease to your lash line.

3.  Get your blending Brush and blend from the corner of you eye inward toward your lid!  creating a smokey look on your lid until you get the shade you desire

4. Now you might look a little crazy at this point! but don't give up you need to add liner to pull it together so grab you Mark no wear to run liner and apply on your top and bottom lash line

5. MASCARA!!!  load it on!  Try Mark plumping Mascara to get the most dramatic affect!

Remember to keep it lighter for during the day than you can get darker at night!  Try different color combinations and have fun with it!!

If you would like to purchase and of these products you can get them at MY Mark Store

Let's Talk Liners!

Hello My Fellow Makeup Enthusiasts!!!!

* For some reason the links I have been posting haven't been going to my MARK page so if you see something you would like to try please order from MY MARK PAGE or you can E-mail me at Linda@makeupbylo.com

First Things First! Let's announce the winner of last weeks Blog! Drum Roll Please................... and the winner is Lady Hill!!! Thank you for your support you will be receiving Mark Super Pro Brush Case!

*****I would also like to answer a comment from one of my followers! Alley posted that she finds it hard to apply moisturizer to her oily skin! try a matte lotion it will keep your skin from getting oily! Use it everyday and you will see your oily skin start to improve!**********

Now On to the good stuff! Let's Talk Liners!

There are so many choices out there how do you know what's best for you? well lets get educated and you can decide for yourself!

Kohl- Kohl liners are great when you want to achieve more of a smokey look, how to achieve this is line your eye with your fave kohl liner than with a small angle brush smudge the line into the lid to get the desired smokey affect you would like to achieve! I do not like wearing kohl liners for the entire day I feel like they don't last as long but they are fab for a nice night out!

Gel- Gel liners are the latest in liners, they go on solid and last all day! to apply gel liners grab your handy dandy eye liner brush dip into the get liner and apply to lash line until you get the look you desire! the down fall of gel liners is that that if you make a mistake they are not as easy to fix! If you are going to wear it on the bottom lash line keep it super thin, but I suggest pencil for this!

Liquid- Liquid Liners have been around for a while and have many pro's and con's, most come with there very own brush simply apply to top lash line! Don't have a steady hand? try doing smaller shorter lines instead of one long one! I do not suggest using this on the bottom lid if your eyes run you will get liner marks under your eye!

Pencil- Ahh Good Ole Faithful! Pencil is my Fave for everyday use, and why you may ask? well its the most fixable its moves easily and can easily be fixed with your handy dandy angled brush with a few quick strokes! You can make it smokey or keep it more solid the choices are endless..... and there are lots of different options out there! I love to use MARK no wear to run! This Pencil stays on all day and if you suffer from allergies like I do this year, it even stands up to the water eye!

What ever Liner you choose to use make sure you have fun with it try some new colors or different lines! If you afraid of using a different color liner start with a nude eye and a plum liner, than get a little braver from there!

Don't Forget to remove all the eyeliner fun Before bed! Either choose quick and easy makeup wipes! or for a cost effective way use olive oil on a flat cotton ball this will remove all the makeup while adding moisture to the eye lashes, without clogging your pores!

I hope you all enjoyed out chat about eye liners! remember have fun it all washes off!

On to the next topic BRUSHES! I'm going to show very reasonable and very functional brushes you can get and how to clean them! *click on red to view products!

These are going to be the basic brushes every diva should have in there everyday makeup kit!

Foundation Brush: Use this brush to apply foundation, to avoid streaking use a criss cross pattern when applying, you should not use your hands this will spread dirt and bacteria. EW!

Concealer Brush: Use this brush to apply concealer under eyes, on the sides of your nose and around your mouth plus any blemishes you want to hide, remember to blend well!

Powder Brush: Use this brush to evenly spread powder all over to keep you dry all day!

Angled Contour Face Brush- Use this brush to apply your blush to your cheek bones.

Eyeshadow Brush- Use this brush to spread eye shadow over the entire eye

Round Eyeshadow Brush- Use this brush in crease of eye to create a more dramatic look

Blending Brush- Blend the colors on your eyes for a softer look!

Angled Contour shadow Brush- This brush is Multi-functional! You can use it in your crease, to apply liner or even to fill in your eye brows!

If your addicted to gel liners as much as i am than this eyeliner brush works best!

Now don't forget to keep it all together in a makeup case to keep it away from dust and dirt!

Now that you know the functions of each brush, I'm going to give you advice on how to clean them! cleaning your brushes regularly is very important, it will keep bacteria from forming and keep your face from breaking out. When is the last time you cleaned your brushes?

There are tons of different brush cleaners that will get the job done, but for a cheap and easy way follow these steps!

Take a plate and place some dawn antibacterial dish soap and a drop of olive oil! (yes olive oil it will keep your brushes soft) dip in the mixture than wipe on the palm of your hand until all the dirt is gone, repeat for each brush. than rinse under cold water and pat dry with a paper towel. Let brushes dry over night either upside down using brush protectors or on there sides! when you wake up in the morning you will have squeaky clean brushes!

I hope I was able to help some of you with your brush questions! Don't forget to leave a comment with your e-mail address to be entered in this weeks contest! some lucky winners will be scoring some of these brushes!

Have a Fabulous Week!

Skin Care

The first step to Fabulous Makeup is Skin Care!

I was having trouble for a while with my skin with the change of season but it was my own fault because I was not following the daily three step rule!

Wash, Tone and Moisturize!!!! I also exfoliate once a week!

Step 1: Wash face with a gentle cleanser, warm water and a soft cloth
*One I suggest is mark Calming Effect Comforting Milk Cleanser (this is especially good for the warmer weather after being in the sun all day!)

Step 2: Pat your face dry with a soft towel, with a cotton ball or soft makeup cloth apply toner to face.
*One I suggest is mark Mist Opportunity Multi-tasking Refresher (this product is great because it doubles as a makeup sealant! once your finished with your makeup a quick spritz will help it stay in place.)

Step 3: Splash a little cold water on your face and pat dry (you want to close your pores before applying lotion) than apply lotion in a gentle circular motion all over face.
*One I suggest is mark For Goodness Face Antioxidant Skin Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 (it's oil free and has SPF 30 so your set for the day!)

These steps should be done in the morning and before bed time daily!

Bonus step! Once a week I like to exfoliate my skin to remove any dead skin cells!
*one I suggest is
mark Berry Grand Super Exfoliating Beads (you add it to your daily face wash so you get to control how much or how little you use!)

I added a picture I took this Friday to show how much better my skin is looking! :-) Hooray!

I created a link to all the products I suggested (just click the name) if anyone is interested in trying them out! Yes i sell them but if you have questions on other products I will be more than happy to answer your questions I am here to help you always Feel Fabulous! if you have any questions you can comment below or email me at Linda@makeupbylo.com
